When I do Chi test in Excel the output box says "Returns the value of the chi squared distribution for the statistic and the appropriate degrees of freedom".
I'm waiting for the video to open but I have seen the pre-photos. My concern here is, I do not know if I am right, the equivalent in the traditional mode of hypothesis testing, the "usual" word attributed to "value of the chi squared distribution for the statistic and the appropriate degrees of freedom".
Prior to request for statistical test you must: a) calculate the value of chi square test with your data ( test statistic); b) you must know the degrees of freedom of your problem.
What Excel is asking you, i think, is that you must enter the arguments, according to the syntax of the function.
That is the problem of using those packages. For purposes of interpretation of your results, you must know how the cummulative distribution was built. Chi square tests can be performed easily by hand. But if you do not use a table (that you know what is about it) and you use Excel you must know everything about that statistical funtion.
Well ... That is easy to figure out ... What you should do is to have at hand a Chi - square table .. that you know, how it was built ,,, try it for two knowns values !!!! .... from that you will know, what is about .... Most programs built those function in the way ... Pr> statistical test obtained with the data ..... However, as I said before, MAKE THAT TEST BY HAND, with paper and pencil .... then do it in EXCEL .....
