To design prediction/forecasting model for photovoltaic (PV) panel output power, which tool is better and why, (1) Neural Network, or (2) stochastic models based on statistical theory? Moreover which type of source is more authentic to get the input data for forecasting model of PV output power?

Neural network have to be trained to acquire the desired response accurately, however stochastic models such as particle swarm optimization techniques may be faster in the approach to yield to an optimal solution. The type of source could be a data set designed based on simulated models from Matlab.
