We are planning to treat mouse model of CML with Imatininb. We want to prepare a water base Imatininb stock solution and my question is:
How do we sterilize that solution?
Should we prepare by using sterile water under sterile conditions?
or
After stock solution preparation we should sterile the solution by filtration?
In the later, approximately how much is the loss?

Is Imatinib soluble in Water? When I was using it, we dissolved it into DMSO, therefore I am wondering.
I don't think that you have much loss in sterile filtering, this is what we generally do with our components...I would guess that it is max. 1% loss...

Regarding your question to its solubility, Imatinib is highly soluble in water.
Ok, then I have learned something new.
Regarding the loss during filtration - the loss will be less if you filtrate a high volume, so I would always prefer to filter 10 or 20 ml rather than 1 ml or even less, and afterwards make aliquots and freeze them.
Daniela answer is very good but this applies for only those solutions which we have in bulk. As I cannot manage to make mls of solution, I filter my chemicals and drugs which are 500 ul to 1 ml using 0.2 uM syrine filters for small amounts. There are companies providing filter for 1ml volume with
