Can anyone help with DNA extraction from Humus?

Has anyone experience with extracting DNA from humus?

I routinely extract DNA from soil both with MoBIO or MPbio accomplished kits: does anyone know if they work as well also with humus, or do I have to introduce some modifications or use different kits?

HI,

Have a look at the paper I have attached - a multi-layer extraction usually works to remove humic compounds - including a couple of purification steps is the key.
