A 17 year old male patient was referred to me for severe claudication in his right leg. He has cutaneous lesions and the result of a punch biopsy were reported to be Henoch Schoenlein Purpura. Do you have any experience or any information about medium sized arterial involvement of HSP?

Dear Adil,
Is the lower limb claudication actually arterial. Have you obtained some evidence of arterial involvement (viz. peripheral pulses, Doppler US). It is more plausible that the claudication in the index case is related to neuropathy (which is a known phenomenon in small vessel vasculitis, though reported less in HSP).
