I am looking for definitions of ethics( and studies) from different areas (philosophy, anthropology, linguistics, interpreting and translation studies, cultural studies, sociology....) in order to see how the role of the participants in a triangle communicative event can affect the role of these participants (interpreter, client, service provider) in different settings eg. prison, gender violence victims, asylum and refugee seekers, courts....etc.

Standford EP is a much respected source. You won't find a single definition of ethics, since it's a very broad topic, but it should help to clarify the terms.
You could also try Macmillan Reference "Bioethics" which has essays that could help you with your research. Not available with open access, but your library should have access or hard copy.
Could you explain a little more what your interest is here with regard to the use of interpreters? Your question is interesting but broad.

You may be interested in ethical dilemmas, or what happens when multiple ethical codes operate in conflicting ways within a single interaction.
Yes, Debbie, this is the idea, what happens, for example, when in the prison setting the interpreter follow the thical code for itnterpreters and the civil guards follow their own code of ethics- when analysying their interactions there is a conflict there as what is ok for ones it is wrong for others .... The same may happen in a hospital , in the asylum and refugee offices.... Iam mostly interested in conflict zones /areas when an intepreter is needed, and sometimes an ad hoc interpreter....

Yes, ethical codes can and do conflict, but what is also problematic though is when one partner to an intervention is not bound by any codes at all, which happens in hospitals when managers determine what senior clinicians can and cannot do. In a multi-disciplinary setting the challenge is to determine what best practice means in a particular setting, and then see how attainable it is in practice.

There is quite a bit of literature on this. In my area of interest - refugees and asylum seekers, there is work by Katrijn Maryns (including her 2006 book) and Jan Blommaert in Belgium. There is also Inghilleri and Jacquemet. Finally, Merlini (2009) 'Seeking asylum and seeking identity in a mediated encounter' demonstrated the quite fluid role of the interpreter in the Italian context.

The main question is what happens when there are different codes of ethics acting together - one for the interpreter and one for the provider, for example....conflicts of ethics I should say.. I cannot find more literature on this , and for example, in prison, this happens, don´t you think?
