I think that depends on the African country. If you have a specific country of interest you can probably find out whether that country has a new teacher induction process through that country's Ministry of education website or maybe their teacher's training college websites as well. I'm sure this varies from country to country.

My daughter is teaching English and Spanish via the Peace Corps in Cameroon, and I found an article for her to read.

If that helps! I do also know that the Peace Corps in Cameroon does teacher training for all Peace Corps volunteers, and that few of them were trained teachers before arriving in Cameroon.
