Can anyone help me with finding research papers or textbooks where I can read about root filtering in image processing?

I am looking for root filtering in image processing in literature, but I did not find any mention of this filtering except a textbook of DIP (written by A.K.Jain). I want to read about this filtering in detail. Can someone help with this?
