I have modeled a 3story-3bay frame in Opensees that it has one vertical shear link in each story. I wanna get the deformation of the links to know their rotation, so I've used the below Recorder , but I did not get any data in my outputs.
recorder Element -file data/ele1003Defo.out -time -ele 1003 section 28 deformation;
would you please help me where is my wrong?

First, I think you can erase "-time" from syntax because it returns only the pseudo time of analysis. Second, why have you used 28 sections for an element? Unless you have an element with steep variations in internal forces, you don't need these many sections for a single element.
Anyway, beside these two items there is nothing wrong with your syntax. I guess your gonna need to upload your .tcl file so we can help you find the error.

Yes the recorder string is in the right position. I have used the recorder strings after the gravity load analysis. Is it right?
Hello, I have a problem with nonlinear elements in opensees. When I run the gravity analysis with linear elements, they have internarl forces but, when i use nonlinear elements, the internal forces are zero. Anybody knows what can be the problem?
To obtain rotation for element, you can use disp recorder in dof 3 for node which creates element of interest.
