After installing Trnsys, you have to run Trnsys Studio > New Document > Empty Project
then you have to save this project with appropriate name and then start building your model.
You have to insert weather data and the project components and different inputs within this project. after that you have to select your outputs and use the plotters or printers to show the results of your projects.
Trnsys is very easy to learn and work with.you can have all the documents in the Trnsys itself.C:\Trnsys17\Documentation follow this path and get all the documents. read all one by and you can simulate any system.
If you're going to use TRNSYS more frequently consider signing up for the TRNSYS email list-serv. It's a great way to get help. http://onebuilding.org/. Also, unmethours.com is helpful for modelers.
for wind generator you can use Type 90 and Type 15 (depends upon which weather data type you want to use?). further you can get help in the menu under ? sign next to tools menu.
Saheb had an error earlier with "Unexpectedly encountered end of WECS data file." I can see the error in the results file but how do I fix it? What should I check?
I figured out why the error above was coming up. The wind turbine Type 90 requires a .par file with the WECS parameters and for some reason the .par file it was referencing was empty. I repopulated it with the default example data and it works!
The wind turbine type documentation in the Electrical library manual is very useful for this.
For getting used to connecting components in TRNSYS and learning all the other skills required, I have created an online training course for TRNSYS, I highly recommend signing up and learning through my video tutorials which cover the full range of topics!
