This is a LV plot obtained from a gas mixture under 1000 centigrade. The experimental setup consists of 3 electrode probe (working, counter and ground).
As the gas is supplied, sweeping voltage from -4.9V to 4.9 V is applied, with a fixed scan rate.
I am not well-versed in electrochemistry, based on my limited knowledge, i know this might have to do with the Nerst equation and stuff, but i just dont know how to start analyzing the curve.

Maybe you should help us first by providing additional information about your measurement. I assume you are using a potentiostat to generate the linear votammetry plot.
Can you tell us please:
- what is the electrical schematic of your circuit (where and how are the electrodes connected to the potentiostat) ?
- what kind of working and counter electrodes are you using ?
- as you did not mention using a reference electrode, how did you measure the 'Potential' on your plot ?
Also, can you clarify:
- what is the meaning of the various coloured parameters on the plot (10ch490h2, etc.) ?
- what does the gas mixture consist of ?
Without this information is rather difficult to comment and help you analyse the plot.

-the colored parameter is the gas mixture, the one you mentioned "10ch490h2" means 10 sccm ch4, 90 sccm hydrogen, and so on. The total flow rate is 100 sccm.
-the gas consists of ch4 and hydrogen
-both working and counter electrodes are made of pt wire
-the electrodes are connected directly to the potentiostat which supplies a sweeping voltage from -4.9 to 4.9 V
If you are not using a reference electrode then, the potential values measured are related to the cell potential, that is the differences in potential values from cathode to anode. Then, you don't have a working electrode as in a conventional three-electrode cell. You have to take into account that when you try to use some reference to analyse the peak potentials you can see in your plot.
Apparently, you can see two peaks in this LSV, one at negative current values and the other at positive values. They are associated with cathodic and anodic processes, respectively. On the other hand, increasing the CH4 presence increase the value of both peaks, which is telling you that CH4 is interacting with your cathode and anode.

So without reference electrode, the reaction that i am observing is the result of interaction between the potential difference of the working electrode and the difference in CH4 concentration, a.k.a the gas analyte, am i right?
