I've did it several times with DMF and everything was OK...but with DMSO the layer is very bad: pale brown and like some stains not evenly spreading...
I've tested (with DMSO) both single step and sequential deposition methods and also have checked papers but yet that's awful.
I'm wondering what's wrong with it!!!
could you please upload the picture, it could help us to judgment. in addition, you can use SEM to evaluate the surface morphology. based on my study experience, it has differ crystallization behaves. thank you
I am getting the broken films with DMF. But DMSO is working quiet good. Just try 1:1 of CsBr and PbBr2 with 1ml of DMSO, overnight stirring. And spin coat it with solvent dripping of Toluene in the end. You will get nice films.

And another question: which solvent is better for dripping and why is that? I mean how can I choose the solvent for dripping?

I guss you have wetting problems. Try O2 plasma for 5min before spin coating.
