Can anyone explain what a "reverse contrast" refers to in fMRI research?

I've seen this phrase "reverse contrast" in many fMRI studies, yet cannot find an explanation of what this refers to. Is this a general concept within neural imaging, is it a general term that would still be experiment-specific?
