NiO thin film grown from chemical solution deposition method is highly porous that thermal evaporation of a metal to form an electrical contact with the film without making making contact with the substrate appears impossible.
a proposal is the commonly used CP (carbon paste[1]) or a home made : MWCNTs' enhanced carbon paste.
1) take an initial "drop" of carbon paste and
2) you must wait (say 1 to 3 min) for partial-intermediate curing, before applying to your sample (Ni-O thin film).
Make a pretreatment test on a dummy sample surface (an Al-foil, A4-paper etc.).

Is it possible to start yoursynthesizi NiO from Ni foil? Resemble research of grow titanium dioxide on titanium foil or rod can be realised easily. See the following link.
@Zhao. I am using chemical bath deposition because of its simplicity. I will consider using other growth techniques as suggested.
