I have used the liner tool in Phase 2 (Rocscience) to apply shotcreting. But it was observed that there was not much improvement in the stability of the slope. Later I had applied a constant seismic force of 0.1 g towards the facing the slope (i.e; in the direction of the application of shotcrete), then the stability of the slope was found to increase as indicated by a considerable increase in critical SRF value. Can anyone please explain why shotcrete accompanied by a constant seismic force improves the critical SRF and not shotcreting alone?
