Simply, at lab scale, with help of isolated rat ileum, we can find anti-motility action of drugs.
Simply, just administer the sposmogen (Ex.: Acetylcholine, Histamine, BaCl2) and check that isolated rat ileum is responding to such spasmogen, then after proper washing period, add spasmolytic agent (your anti-motility agent) and check the effect of spasmogen again (Effect of spasmogen in presence of spasmolytic agent ). Compare the responses of Spasmogen in presence and absence of spasmolytic agent (anti-motility agent). If the response of spasmogen is reduced in presence of spasmolytic agent, then it indicate the anti-motility activity of your drug.
