I am interested in learning more about the following 3 species of Palinurid lobsters, formerly classified in the Family Synaxidae: the Caribbean furry lobster or coral lobster Palinurellus gundlachi Von Martens, 1878, the mole lobster Palinurellus wieneckii (De Man, 1881), and/or the musical furry lobster Palibythus magnificus P. J. F. Davie, 1990. Information on these species seems largely unknown or obscure (aside from molecular studies), yet they occupy an interesting taxonomic position in relation to commercially-important spiny and slipper lobsters. Any known biological or ecological information (e.g., life history, distribution, etc.), and especially whether there is any record of fisheries or speculation on possible fisheries in the literature, would be of great interest to me. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
