Hi all,
this white snapping shrimp was collected from bottom gill nets by traditional fishermen, east coast of India and was found alive with a soft coral. Looking at it from the eye and the hairy uropod, we found it to be close to Synalpheus neomeris (de Man, 1897). Need confirmation from experts working on snapping shrimp groups.

Dear sir, I'm glad to see the pictures of snapping shrimp along with the host. It is Synalpheus neomeris associated on soft coral Dendronephthya sp. I got few specimens from GOM in May 2015. It is already documented from the minicoy nd gulf of mannar region by courtiere and Pearson in 1905. For your kind information, you can refer Banner and Banner, 1975. thank you for the confimration and information. Is it documented in the Coramandel coast? or for that matter anywhere else above Nagapattinam?
