Today we observe all over the globe cross section of population /people are using smart phones at office,educational institutions,railway stations,airports,street corners and at houses.They are spending a lot of time daily on social media. I sometimes feel what are likely impact of these usage on future generations.Insightful answers are requested from RG members.
Social media are gaining in popularity every day. The average number of hours a teenager spends online per week more than 30.
Social media have become prominent parts of life for many young people today. Most people engage with social media without stopping to think what the effects are on our lives, whether positive or negative. There are many positive aspects, but there are equally as many dangers that come with the use of sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google +, Tumblr, Instagram, gaming sites, and blogs. In order to make the right choices, we must think over it.
Internet access is helping in access of information easily and increasing the speed of work and delivery.
It is helping the young generation to take well informed decision about their career and other activities they wish to carry out.
However, too much of involvement with internet and social media is reducing the time available for physical activities necessary for a healthy life.
One need to use the internet and social media as per necessity.

It is really a alarming situation....even small kidz are so addicted to it...it will be going to make the generation paralysed and totally inactive physically...so effective awareness among child and parents also in school is the need of the hour....
Interesting question. I think Dr. Mahesh Kumar gave a good viewpoint.
Future generations may not eat for a day but they can not without internet
and social media.
Really it is a matter of concern Dr Shibani particularly for children.
As the internet becomes dominated by certain forces of opinion and future direction, e.g., political, then the battle has already been lost.

Adults are no safer than children. The focus needs to be on the development of abilities of "critical thinking" of children and adults.
