We are using RITA® in our lab for plant cell and callus culture. I have used callus of 2-3 cm successfully in that. It is a temporary immersion system bioreactor. It worked quite well for my culture (callus of a woody plant). Please see the attached link.
Thank you very much for your response. I am looking for the bioreactor, which are suitable for cell suspension cultures. Actually, replication of growth factors optimized in shake flask is not working at bioreactor scale (3 Ltr working volume or higher). Hence, I am looking for 25 to 100 ml cap. multiple bioreactor.
Thanks for your response. Kindly elaborate your suggestion. We have the bioreactor of variable cap. (3 L to 15 L working volume ). However, the optimization experiments using these system are not feasible wrt time, cost and manpower. Also, owing to higher cell size and clumping, inoculation of plant cells is a major problem in open condition. Therefore, I am looking for the bioreactor of small volume (25 to 100 ml cap.) multiple bioreactor.
I suggest a lab scale of 1l CSTR to do the job. But use low mixing speed of 100-200 rpm to work at low shear stress. The sparge air or oxygen could facilitate the mixing
Thanks for your suggestion. I am looking for a bioreactor system that have one controller handling at least 8-10 small volume vessels Pl. suggest any such make/model available in the market.
