The compass of this query is broad:
- Is the object to gauge how friendly a workplace environment is to innovation? (The dimensions of a workplace's friendliness to innovation include leadership, the diversity of leadership styles, the work group, the psychological environment, the physical work space, procedures for bringing in outsiders or outside perspectives, ways to promote group convergence, etc.)
- Is the object to gauge the process of innovation? (Process metrics deal with variables that affect the transfer of ideas through the innovation funnel, e.g., average time from idea approval to implementation, number of ideas approved and number implemented, stage-gate pass rates, value of the innovation pipeline, etc.)
- Is the object to gauge the outcome of innovation? (Innovation results are difficult to quantify because they often benefit from the fruition of earlier ideas and projects in the innovation pipeline and may lean on expansion of innovation capacity due to earlier ideas and projects.)
Dear Muhammad,
The scale for any type of evaluation depends on the degree of accuracy desired. The word criterion means parameter, so the element with which it must be compared must be defined, in this case the degree of innovation. Do not forget that there are incremental, evolutionary and disruptive innovations, all of which must be compared to the established parameter. In your case I would like more information to be able to help.

i) Number of patents/trademarks generated
ii) Commercial/Monetary return of Project Innovation
iii) Level of Increase in team competencies/skill level
iv) Level of increase in team performance/organizational performance
v) Reduction in cycle time/customer turn around time
vi) increased customer acquisition/retention.

Innovation itself is not easy to measure but innovation in research, implementation and investment projects is measured instrumentally. The simplest method in the absence of advanced measurement models is the development of a point system based on the diagnosed determinants of innovation, for which point scales are created. In this way, innovation, i.e. a qualitative concept, acquires a quantitative dimension and can be quantified. The indicated quantitative dimension can be used to evaluate innovation as a subject of the transaction and a key factor of production in innovative startups and technology companies in which research works are carried out and new innovative technological, process, product and other solutions are created.
