Thank you Dr. Dmitry. I came across this slug this year. I had never seen such slugs in my place for around last 32 years after my birth. Does it indicate environmental change? Is it invasive species to indian subcontinent? Does it harm agricultural crops?
First of all I am not completely sure this is L. alte. Identification of Veronicellidae is rather complicated and anatomy or internal shell to be examined for proper identification. For instance, Veronicella cubensis is another similar species which is, however, not yet reported from S and SE Asia in the wild.
L. alte is an invasive species originating from tropical Africa, but nowadays found in all of E Australia, most of coastal New Guinea (human settlements only), all over Indonesia and becoming common in continental Asia. I am not familiar with records of this species from India, but there are several observations on India's biodiversity portal https://indiabiodiversity.org/species/show/281126
Moreover, there is at least one Indian publication on this species here on RG: Article Ecology and population studies of land slug, laevicaulis alt...
