Dear friends and colleagues

Recently, I found out that evaluation of my manuscripts in different journals encountered some problems. Some of the problems are as follows:

1-The most important problem is elongation of reviewing time (6-12 months)

2- Sometimes, journals hold the status of the manuscripts as with editor for long time like 3-4 months, then rejects the manuscript because of scope of the journal or another simple reason. I say if a manuscript is out of the journal scope the editor can reject it in a week. Why do they hold it for 3-4 months?

3- In some cases, the journal ask a revision after 4-6 months; we revise the manuscript accurately and accordingly, and resubmit it to the journal. After 4-5 months, the journal reject the manuscript with no explanation or with a simple statement.

4- Some journals rapidly (in a week) return the manuscript and say because of certain sanctions against Iran they are not allowed to consider our manuscripts for possible publication.

These issues have been begun since 2013, but I think it has been potentiated since 2015.

My question is: are these issues fair and according to ethics in research and publication? Isn’t it a political game?

I kindly invite everybody who can help us to get rid of these problems please come to discussion and give his or her valuable suggestions.

Sincerely

Ehsan Saboory
