I need to know which method will give an easier and good result for finding melting point and latent heat of fusion.
T-History calorimeters allow the investigation of samples that are approximately 1000 times larger than typical DSC samples. Therefore, the T-History method is interesting in particular for heterogeneous materials and materials with volume dependent behaviour, such as compound materials or substances that show separation and / or subcooling effects. Large samples together with constant charging / discharging temperatures ensure that the measured enthalpy curves (and especially the crystallisation behaviour) are representative for the phase change behaviour of the bulk material in applications.
Since T-History calorimeters are self-built instruments, you need to set up your own control system, data acquisition and evaluation procedure. Similar to DSC, you can calculate the onset or the peak temperature of a phase change (e.g. by analysing the enthalpy curve with a software like Origin).
To summarise: DSC is more convenient for the determination of onset / peak temperatures and latent heat, but some PCM (e.g. semi- or incongruent melting salt hydrates) cannot be characterised well via DSC. In these cases, T-History measurements are favourable.
