Depends on what you want to do with it... You have the Kim et al 2013 measure published in JPART, it has been validated in several Asian countries (but never in Nepal), or some of the other work by Kim (2011 or 2009) in JPART... these are all extensive measures (although Kim et al 2013 has only 16 itms)... alternatively, you may use shorter measures (such as the MSPB5, based upon Perry, See Wright and Christensen 2013 in IPMJ, but this is not really a good general measure; I am currently working on developing a global measure, not yet finished though)... finally have a look at Bangcheng Liu's work on validation of PSM measures in China, there might be an interesting lead...
Thanks Wouter. I've gone through Kim et al 2013, and Liu's study in China. I also tried to test the generalizability of Perry's (1996) scale in Nepal but could not confirm compassion dimension. I wanted to know whether there is any recently developed scale having cross cultural generalizability.
I have successfully used the five item global measure (discussed in Wright and Christensen 2013) in Thailand. I mostly use this as a moderating variable similar to the prosocial motivation measure. I found that this five item measure can explain the variable in several performance outcome variables above and beyond the effect of Trait agreeableness and conscientiousness. I look forward to reading the work by Professor Vandenabeele about the new global measure.
