It is not a beetle, it seems to be an orthopteran. As a simple hypothesis, I suggest the tribe Callimenellini belonging to the family Tettigoniidae (Orthoptera Ensifera). Otherwise, another Ensifera. The photo shows only some features of the insect, other photos (e.g. in lateral vision) could be very useful, as well as knowledge of its length and the region where it was collected. Regards,

Subfamily is Pseudophyllinae, tribe most probably Callimenellini - reminds me of genus Callimenellus Walker, 1871. Callimenellus apterus Beier, 1944 is known from India, and recorded from Maharashtra: Khandalla [= Khandala] by S. Ingrisch.
Please READ previous answers. It IS Orthoptera. It IS Ensifera. It is Pseudophyllinae and it IS probably genus Callimenellus. It IS NOT beetle/ Coleoptera.
Images should be clear, sharp and locality data must be supplied, my friend then alone people can give precise identity ( although images alone are never sufficient for small insects!!)
I provided already link to Orthoptera species file with photos of type specimens Callimenellus apterus. I provide the link again here: http://orthoptera.speciesfile.org/Common/basic/Taxa.aspx?TaxonNameID=1141171
