I have seen in some papers, the work function of R6G* (excited R6G) is 1.76 eV and The singlet-state energy of R6G is ~ 2.28 eV (Which is calculated from half of the energy of sum of absorption and fluorescence maxima). I am taking the work function of R6G as sum of these two 1.76+2.28eV =4.04 eV. is it correct way to consider the work function of organic molecules like r6G?.
