Before starting either a M.Sc. or Ph.D. thesis, it is very important to read published theses by others. Here are examples:

Yes, As Prof.James said, read some articles/masters or PhD thesis. It will direct you in a correct path. Choose your field accordingly before reading the multiple articles or thesis.

Thanks all of you for commenting. I have written a thesis in my M.Sc. which includes a research paper as well. To complete this thesis, I had studied almost 40 research papers. Now I need help in writing MS level thesis. For this, again, I have studies a few papers and theses too. But I'm unable to finalise topic. I have no supervisor. I want to write it myself with the help of you respected teachers/professors/researchers. I want to discuss that with any teacher/researcher who is willing to help me in writing the thesis. I think this forum is for the scientific discussion ! You can ask what types of specific suggestions do you need. Writing a thesis is different part in my view.

Step 1-Narrow down to an area from the list provided:

• Decision Making
• Artificial Intelligence
• Semigroups or Γ-semigroups
• Computing
• Soft Computing, Soft Sets

MATLAB(this is not an area of research so its discarded).

Step 2- Choose a sub area from the area chosen. Example machine learning from AI

Step 3- Identify a particular subject from that area. Typically choose from a book source if you have no idea.

Step 4- As you read from the subject you will notice key words that are important, write them down

Step5-Do a Google scholar search on those keywords and filter by most recent dates

Step 6- Read, read, read

Step 7- Narrow down the list of papers to a few 4 or 5 interesting problem

Step 8- From those take emphasis on those whose conclusion point to future work

Step 9-Identify that problem and see if anyone has done something resembling a solution to the problem. If not or if you think you can do better then this is the start of the process of getting your research problem and statement. If not go to step6.

Step 10- You have narrowed down the topic but you must refine the search based on keywords specific to the chosen problem

Step 11- Read, read, read

Step 12- You should stop reading when the authors cited keep repeating over and over. These are foundational papers that must be read to get proper background and cite if necessary. If unsuccessful go to step 6

At least this steps can point you in the right direction. Other algorithms are available but this one should suffice.

Sir Arturo Geigel thank you very much. Sir I have read a book and some papers in Decision Making. And I have done research work in Semigroups and Γ-semigroups in past. Here, I have not as much time as it takes to write MS level thesis because I'm already much late. 2 times my supervisors left because of their personal or university issues. It's long story. Here now I need a teacher/professor/researcher who chats me with and discusses with me about research in Decision Making, Semigroups or Γ-semigroups in particular OR in any field of Mathematics mentioned he or she can help just like a supervisor. I mentioned MATLAB just because if there is any computer-based research line available in Mathematics using MATLAB, then I can consider that too because I also hold Computer Science degree. You have guided me very well. I appreciate. If possible, can you supervise my thesis please?

I agree with James F Peters. should Before starting either a M.Sc. or Ph.D. thesis, it is very important to read published theses by others. Hawever , your provisor could help you if you have .

What specific area in decision making interest you? What problems have you encountered in your pursuit to be a good decision maker? Focus on those problems met.
