You should plug it into a certified, acceptable and reliable power outlet (per electrical code), as described in the product's User Manual under "Site Prep" and installation. Please refer to the product manual for details. Any optional UPS system used with this module (normally not needed unless power is unreliable in your location) would need to be of the PURE A/C SINE-WAVE type with enough VA power to safely operate the CE instrument. A "Power Conditioner" (Outlet box with filters to protect from shorts and surges) should be considered for use on all other instrument devices which are not connected to an UPS system.
BTW: The computer system which controls the CE system and collects data in real-time, usually benefits the most from a properly configured and installed UPS system. Small A/C input disturbances (Drops, surges, brown-outs etc) may cause the data acquisition system to 'freeze' or loose instrument control of the CE system. We routinely install UPS systems on all analytical instrument computers for this reason.
You can connect directly to power source but check condition in your area for power supply i.e power supply is uninterrupted then no issue but the power supply is not regular then need UPS.
Let me tell you the straight that the instrument cost is very high whereas USP cost is not much and due to power failure any part can damage like mother board and its too costly.
My recommendation is to go with power supply with UPS
