thank you Arvind for sharing the link. I know the whole process of herbarium because its part of my job but actually i want to know that if someone provide you with seeds or identified raw material, what are its rule for preservation and assigning voucher number.

Seeds can b assigned voucher number in Seed bank but not in herbarium.
It means that seed bank must have their own voucher numbers independent of herbarium numbers?

As a supplement to a herbarium sheet, a 'carpological' collection can be maintained. This supplement may be seed and/or fruit, as well as any plant part which is too large to be incorporated into the main collection as a standard herbarium sheet. This helps in enriching the herbarium collection. And obviously one has to provide direct or indirect relation to number associated to herbarium sheet.
It is better to provide the same collection number to both herbarium sheet and carpological collection.
