I am currently trying to discover whether a piezoelectric transducer could generate enough electric energy from a pinch to power a near-infrared light source and its coupled sensor. If yes about how long could it power said system and would it be possible to store this energy?

Its basically a bridge rectifier connected to a capacitor (not on this board, you need to put some extra components yourself), and when the cap is charged, it gives out a constant voltage of your choice. Source of charge can be anything from piezo, solar, or thermal.
