I’m doing a research regarding with removing sulfur dioxide (SO2) from a mixture of N2 and SO2 using adsorption rig with dry-absorbent. . My experimental rig is coupled with humidifier system for the addition of water vapor into the the gas mixture before it can enter the adsorbent bed in the reactor (in order to study the effect of water vapor/relative humidity).
to study the humidity effect with the inlet gas, the gas first goes through the conical flask which is submerged in water bath.
Temperature of water-bath can be controlled from the heating system. My question is, let say I want a RH of 40%, how do I calculate the water bath temperature?
At the moment, I have in mind that I will calculate RH by finding vapor pressure values from steam tables of water at two different temperature (one of water bath and one of reactor). Like
%RH= vap pressure at water bath temp/ vap pressure at reactor temperature. Is this method correct?
I would appreciate suggestions as I am highly skeptical of my method at the moment. I have search a lot, so many books but I could not find any solution.
Cheer!
