I need help to calculate mixed composition (Eh, ion conc, etc) in spreadsheet in order to compare the results obtained from phreeqc simulation. Thank you
Spreadsheet mixing calculations will assume that the dissolved solids are conserved, and that the composition of the mixture is a weighted average of the end-members. You can't make that assumption with nonconservative factors such as pH, so be careful not to treat pH (and ORP) as you do sodium or chloride. The latest version of Geochemist's Workbench (ver. 11) makes the adjusted pH calculation as part of the overall mixing calculation. The equation shown by Vicenta Esteller in her response is the two-component model used for all conservative solutes.
Hello Vicenta and Bruce - thank you so much to you both, it solves my problem. I now realize how important this forum is to get connected with professionals..
