Hi

I have conducted a questionnaire to determine people's preference for a health care model using 10 questions relating to the model. I used a Likert scale of agree, disagree, and not applicable. I have collected data for 127 participants. To be able to decide on the overall preference and conclude, I did the following:

I labeled the responses as:

Agree=1

Disagree=0

Not applicable= I treated it as a blank

I then calculated the overall average score for the model questions for each participant (i.e scores for question 1-10/10) . Therefore, I got a mean preference score for each participant. I then calculated the overall preference mean (total of all participants' mean preference scores as calculated above , divided by the number of participants). The overall mean was 0.83. Therefore, I can conclude that participants tend to prefer this model.

Is this an accurate way of working out participants' overall preference for a health care model? Thank you in advance
