Calcium fluoride nonlinear polarization ?

Calcium fluoride doesn't have linear electooptic effect. If I will apply electric field to that crystal no linear birefringence appear.

What about nonlinear birefringence with regard to electric field ?

Calcium fluoride has a finite non-linear refractive index due to the Kerr effect. This results in a change in refractive index and birefringence proportional to the optical intensity.
