Can anyone suggest a good antibody for c-fos staining of brain tissues (neocortex) preferably species except Rabbit.

I am working with the antibody c-fos (cat.No.226003) from synaptic systems. (www.sysy.com) on mouse and rat brain tissue with good results. This antibody works also on monkey, ape, dog, cow, pig and human.

In addition to the great suggestions above, I'd like to also recommend a tool for you for future reference.
I did a search for you on BenchSci (www.benchsci.com) for "c-fos", then filtered for:
"Cortex" for Tissue Tested
"Rabbit" excluded for Reactivity
and also checked off "Show only available products".
I was able to find several antibody candidates that have been published under these conditions.
