12 September 2017 3 6K Report

I have come across a publication (Jafarzadeh et al., 2014) where they have calculated bulk electrical conductivity of polymer film coated on metal from impedance modulus using the formula:

electrical conductivity = ((4L)/(pi x d^2 x R)) where L is the thickness and d is the diameter of the sample.

I am not very experienced in electrochemistry and as I have never seen this formula before and the authors unfortunately do not provide a reference, I just wanted to ask you if someone can confirm that this indeed is the way conductivity can be calculated?

thank you very much,

kind regards,

Karen
