I am using cathodic potential range -0.3V to -1.0V and using PBS ph 5.5 as supporting electrolyte. adjusted its pH with 1 M NaOH. As the electrochemical cell is turned on bubbles are formed at working and counter electrode due to which overloading occurs n i cannot run my experiment. how can i avoid these bubbles formation.
Is it a current overload, potential overload or ubbles are formed ?

Bubbles are formed at working and counter electrode and system indicates overloading as soon as bubbles start to form. It shows current and control overload. i could not understand the issue because conditions were the same as in previously performed experiments and i was repeating the experiment. there are no bubbles in reference electrode neither any connection problem. as i apply voltage n cell is on bubbles start to form at working and counter electrode n overloading is shown. i m using GCE as working and platinum wire as counter electrode.
ok thankyou sir. i will make fresh kcl solutions today for reference electrode n fill it with new solutions and perform the experiments again. thanku for ur guidance
