hi. does anyone can explain me why does artificial infection is more aggressive infecting with hypha (3 days old culture) than infecting with conidia at concentration of 1*10^6 (14 days old culture)?
Hi, Mcelia is ready to infect the tissue when it use, but spores need to be germinate and make germ tube to penetrate the plant tissue after that it will preform a mycelia to make infection.
In natural condition - berries which touching mycelium will get the infection easy, but in case of conidia it needs to be wounded, because conidia diseased berries get infected during flowering.
