Honestly, for just learning the basics, I think you will find a lot of information free online. Youtube can be a great resource. There are also some open statistics texts. Across fields, the intro texts cover much of the same material, so I think you could find an option that works for you.
Discovering Statistics Using IBM SPSS Statistics by Andy Field is a good book which provides detailed statistical concepts and applications using SPSS. The author has several videos on Youtube as well.
Whilst Andy Field's book is generally accurate and well respected, I certainly wouldn't recommend it for learning statistics as it is so long and detailed. I would instead recommend the CAST resources from Massey University in New Zealand. They consist of several ebooks with videos and simulations using Java applets.
I recommend the Andy Field's book for learning statistics, but I would not recommend it for teaching statistics because of the contents of the examples in the book.
