That is a really very interesting question. I don’t have the answer, but I would love to know the answer.

I’m a dentist and I would measure the pH of unstimulated, chewing stimulated and acid stimulated whole saliva of my patients with a dry mouth. The outcome would sometimes be quite puzzling. Of course at the time I did not have the PTH of their blood measured.

Perhaps you can find the answer in papers about patients on dialysis. Their PTH is usually high.
