As we know, BJT is Biploar junction transistor. It means both holes & electrons are responsible for conduction of the device. But how could one say that BJT is a minority charge carrier device?
dear sir...BJT is having the capability of charge carrying through majority as well as minority carriers..so it is called as bipolar device...charge carrying of minority carriers in reverse bias condition..which is called as leakage current ....so, called as minority charge carrier device...because of this reason secondary break down occurs..this can destroy the device......where as MOSFET is unipolar device...charge carrying through majority carriers only...because of high input impedence..called as unipolar device...which is not having secondary break down...thanking you
From the point of view of base, the injected electrons or holes from the emitter are minority charge carriers. These minority carriers are swept across the reverse biased Collector Base Junction enables the conduction in the Transistor. That is the reason.
