Please, what code do I need to use when installing sensor with the digester. The 366 code isn't working for the sensor installed. Your opinion please...
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency within the USDA, drafted the anaerobic digester practice standard (Code 366). This practice standard applies to:
Systems planning biogas recovery · new construction or retrofits · farms that have suitable material to digest · operators that can monitor and manage an AD system.The Code 366 unlike other biogas plant, an electronic smoke alarm detector (model: Ei100) is placed 300 mm below the digester top for effective fire protection. The gases produced are directly linked to the fire hazard, and chemical hazard associated with the system. Therefore, it is necessary to install some sensors as a safety mechanism to detect unusual spikes in gas concentrations from the system. In Metropolia, a Waspmote Plug and Sense- Smart Environment PRO node from Libelium, containing methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and VOC sensors, is going to be installed near the biogas system. In addition, temperature, humidity and pressure sensors are going to be used.
The electronic smoke alarm detector has the following features and functions;
1. Ionisation sensor: Responds to all fires and is especially responsive to fast flaming fires.
2. It has loud alarm up to 85 decibels at three metres.
3. Test button simulates smoke.
4. Powered by Battery
5. Warning bleep when battery needs replacement.
The sensor system consists of three components:
1. Waspmote Smart Environment Pro node,
2. different sensor probes and
3. Meshlium gateway for connecting data from sensors to cloud platform
I would say biogas digestors are good solutions for increasing organic wastes specially in urban ecosystems. In this regard, I would like to share you the following paper which made to get a comprehensive knowledge:
