biodiesel refers to a vegetable oil-or animal fat -based fuel consisting of long chain alkyl esters. when oil is react with methanol presence of NAOH then two compounds release biodiesel and glycerol. actually oil is non polar . how can we determine that biodiesel is polar or non polar.

Dear Ajaj, biodiesel is a long-chain alkyl ester. The ester groups make it polar due to the presence of the oxygen in carbonyl group. Since oxygen is more electronegative than carbon, the carbonyl group is a charged dipole but the polarity is weak.
