I am in search for a simulation tool, suitable for a software engineer or algorithm designer, if he/she want to focus only on the planning etc., and don't want to go deep into robot design, physics engine etc. In which ready made models are available with all the related stuff and i want to add something in the ROS or new module rather than getting stuck in the underlying concepts of physics and robot design. Answers will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Thanks all of you for nice answers, i will try to look at these simulators, my interest is multi-robots so i robotstudio will not help me there.
About 2 robots, there are software simulation facilities, on specific software , made by companies producing industrial robots, ask and find; for example, I have DTPS II, from ValkWelding Company.
blender for robotics is a rather interesting simulation system (i think it could fulfill your needs)
As you mentioned ROS, I assume you know about Gazebo, right? http://gazebosim.org/
In my opinion VREP + MATLAB its the best combo right now. VREP grows rapidly and is becoming a very comprehensive and robust software.
If you would like to work in ROS, either Gazebo or VREP are quite integrated and fit your needs, if you take the already developed robot models. My students say that VREP is easier to develop models... opinions. Of course, MATLAB is not the best tool for a software engineer who would have under control all the internals of the algorithms. Proprietary tools (mostly developed by robot companies to simulate working cells), usually do not integrate very well with ROS.
