I want to check the response of my mutant Arabidopsis thaliana plants against pathogens. My protein of interest which I have knocked out is present in the chloroplast. Which pathogen do you suggest me to use to check the response of my plants to? and is there a technique that you recommend for me to use to expose them to the mentioned stress?

I would start with Pseudomonas syringe DC3000 (bacteria) and Botritys cineria (fungus). There are standard assay procedure described in the literatute for each of the pathogen. If you need more specific information I would be happy to help you.
Swadhin Swain Thanks a lot for your reply. Can you help me with a way to avoid contaminating the rest of the plants in the growth chamber? or do I need to have one growth chamber only for my plants? what if I test my samples on plates? is it a good idea?
Niloufar Pirayesh I would not worry contaminating other plants if I am using Pseudomonas or Botrytis. These pathogens are not going to contaminate other plants in the growth room unless they are in direct contact. In addition, to minimize the chance of direct contact, I would immediately remove those infected plants from the growth room after the completion of the experiment.
