I need to conduct an analysis and wanted to check if my idea for analysis sounds feasible.

  • I have 3 DVs which are; fear of terrorism, confidence in the police and punitive attitudes towards counter-terrorism measures.
  • I have 3 IVs which include elements associated with social media consumption; frequency of social media consumption, preferred social media platform (e.g. Facebook) and preferred sources for news and info whilst on social media platforms (e.g. News pages).
  • Then I have included 3 additional IVs; age, trust in media and experience with terrorism as well to see their effects.

I was thinking of running 3 hierarchal regressions for each dependent variable, with fear of terrorism and confidence in police being included again in the second and third, as I wanted to see effect between the DVs as well as the IVs.

For each model, I'd put in the three additional IVs (age, trust & experience) in the first step just to see their effects for each DV, then enter the social media consumption variables in the second step for fear of terrorism model, then include fear of terrorism along with social media consumption variables for the second step in confidence in the police model. And again include fear of terrorism, confidence in the police and social media consumption variables in the second step for the punitive attitude model.

I was wondering if that sounded okay, or if there were better ways?
