MnO2 is used as both battery and capacitor electrode material. Some literature suggest that it is a capacitor material as it shows true capacitive behavior but most of the literature have reported it as a battery material.
I am working on MnO2 based electrochemical energy storage systems. Please someone help me to decide that for which application MnO2 is more suitable- battery or capacitor?

To best of my knowledge, MnO2 is best candidate for capacitors/supercapacitors.

Yes MnO2 is a true capacitive material however it is generally preferred as a battery material. Also, most of the literatures have reported it as a battery material. As compared to other metal oxides (which are not ideally capacitive) it provides low specific capacitance value. Hence I am looking for more explanations.
