I taught a grad course in human sexuality @ the Mount. Most students think sexual activity is by far more recreational than procreational. I assigned them to conduct a sexual history on a male and female subject. And their conclusions are based on these findings. BTW they reported some discomfort in conducting this interview, and i am not surprised at all that they did.

Given the fact that most of our genetics are programmed to function from an objective, evolutionary point of view, I would inquire that the two concepts work in parallel(since pro-creation is embedded into our genetics and re-creation is the action in which we experience a pleasurable state of mind), with an emphasis on the recreational. If we take Anonymous as an example, sex and sexuality are experienced(for the most part, anyway) for roughly 50 years, if Anonymous would live up until 65, with certain peaks during adolescence/adulthood. Now, theoretically, if Anonymous would've had 6 sons in his lifetime, that means that in his 50 years of climax, only 6 of them were intended with the purpose of pro-creation. This would be the best scenario possible, yet we need to take into account the female counterpart, since females are fertile a maximum of 2 days during their fertile window. Aspects such as economics, religion, culture, philosophy and biology also play a grand role in this particular field and can easily change the scale, depending on historical time/space.

So very well analyzed. And it is absolutely amazing that males produce so much sperm in one ejaculation; and a few times one "scores". And it is true that women are born w/ X number of ova.

One of the major differences between the sexes in sexual behaviour is probably the language used. Men are much more imaginative and motivated to express tenderness linguistically, the female gender has developmental psychologically known linguistic advantages, but in the intimate situation the ability plays a role to express tenderness more with non-linguistic means. It is not difficult to test this hypothesis.

Thank you for your response. it is interesting that when men dream of sex, it tends to be multiple strangers; while for women it typically is someone they know. Testosterone accounts for sexual drive in both M & W; and we men get a lot more when we enter puberty.

In the United States, I would venture most of it is for pleasure given our birth rates.
The simultaneity, on the one hand, of sexual desire towards persons with certain characteristics and, on the other hand, of disgust towards other persons with certain characteristics has so far hardly been investigated outside the theories of Sigmund Freud.
Although it is well known that earlobes are used for erotic stimulation when stroked, I do not know any reports from social anthropology that pleasure is triggered when men stick their sexual organ into the ears of any other human being, whether male or female. It is strange that this nobody does exercise as far as I know, also group sex in this habit could be conceivable.
