03 March 2015 2 2K Report

I am considering study of rotating disc with shaft (3000RPM) in which, on surface circular strip of certain depth the internal heat is generated, for around 900 seconds is applied. Now, in order to reduce computational cost/time, its been reduced to 2D axisymmetric.

1. In this case will heat generation application be Q/2 or the same?

2. If disc and shaft is stationary and other conditions are same as above would it change internal heat generation application in 2D?

3. How ANSYS software makes the numerical calculation for which results are finally 3D by revolving around axis?

Thanks in advance.
